Approach

Based on the problems you might be trying to solve, I use a blend of several specialty techniques that have produced emotional healing and life improvements for my clients. These specialties include:

Emotional Freedom Technique

The surprising natural healing aid you can use for almost everything

From the EFT Website:

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an emotional, needle-free version of acupuncture that is based on new discoveries regarding the connection between your body's subtle energies, your emotions, and your health. EFT has been reported successful in thousands of cases covering a huge range of emotional, health and performance issues. It often works where nothing else will. Best of all, anyone can learn and use EFT and you don't need specialized schooling for it.

EFT is an amazingly simple and effective way to realign the body’s energy system.

EFT is unique because the mind and body are addressed simultaneously. While a practitioner is tapping or leading you to tap on acupressure points, carefully-crafted words direct your attention to images, feelings and events, allowing you to quickly release old patterns and limiting beliefs.

This mind-body approach explains why EFT has been known to help everything from headaches to sports performance.

While it is based on the ancient principles of acupuncture, there is no discomfort of needles and you can use EFT to quickly shift your emotional state. Destined to become a household word, EFT is the fastest growing energy psychology.

How do I use it?

I began using EFT to help people with the most difficult aspects of changing their relationships to lose weight.

An over-fondness of sugar is a powerful example: while sugar is addictive (yes, chemically it is closer to cocaine than protein) many of us have oodles of warm fuzzy memories associated with some kinds of sweets.

With EFT you can quickly peel through layers of emotional memories. In the case of sweets, it helps flatten your desires, which are sometimes attempts to recapture past warm and fuzzy feelings.

I can accomplish this by creating a conversation while you are tapping. As resistance comes in to your awareness, it is dealt with handily.

You begin to shift mentally and physically. With this shift you are more receptive to suggestions and find yourself doing what had previously been illusive.

How Does EFT Help You

EFT is fundamental to helping you change your mind.

Think of your brain as uniquely yours with its own contours like the side of a particular mountain. Your life experiences have created certain grooves in your brain, as you have reacted to the same stimuli in the same manner.

When you shift your perception, you react differently to what is in front of you. EFT allows you to shift perception very quickly.

Many of my clients use EFT when they notice themselves reacting to a situation in a way that is not productive.

However, many times the change is so fast that yesterday's issue is gone. And then they are ready to work on something else? We always have ways in which we want to improve, right? The Science Behind EFT

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is one of the most useful and most misunderstood of the healing arts.

While the impression given in stage hypnosis shows and in the movies is entertaining, it needs an update. (While stage hypnosis is entertaining, it does not paint an adequate picture.)

In everyday life, people experience hypnosis as a very pleasant calm, and are delighted when they realize how quickly they feel better, and how easily they reach a very relaxed state.

By focusing attention, a person may go into a light or deep trance. A trance is a state of heightened mental alertness and diminished physical movement. It is also a state of susceptibility to a desired suggestion.

You can change your mind and your behavior in either a light or a deep trance. I have very successful clients who snore within minutes and I have others who pop open their eyes and want to talk.

A hypnotherapist is merely a guide and practicing is more an art than a science.

However, science is beginning to prove the power of thoughts, a power that hypnotists have known for decades.

Stage hypnosis can be fun and it gives fine examples of how powerful our thoughts are, but using hypnosis to help you change your behavior is very different.

Stage hypnosis is for entertainment and hypnotherapy is to help you change your mind. Think guided imagery which you have likely experienced without "it" being called hypnosis.

How do I use it?

I do not use it to make people cluck like chickens.

I almost always use hypnosis at the end of a session and I record it and send it to you.

The brain is like the side of a mountain. Yours has a certain terrain and you have certain ski runs you have used over and over again.

You may have decided you would like to use a new run. Hypnosis is the perfect venue for creating that new mental trail.

You change your brain with your thoughts. Obviously it is to your benefit to mentally practice.

Your mind loves and responds to the repetition. Having your hypnosis designed and written just for you can make a big difference. If you know you have resistance, you certainly want to have individualized guidance.

How Does Hypnosis Help You?

Hypnosis helps you change your behavior and it has several positive side effects. You may sleep better, suddenly lose that kink in your neck, or whatever symptom of stress you may have been manifesting. Hypnosis is a relaxing mental message.

Combining EFT and Hypnotherapy to change your mind

Although I have described hypnosis and EFT, it is very difficult to describe each healing modality separately.

The crossover is tremendous. During EFT, I may use techniques common to hypnotherapy. During hypnosis, I sometimes use EFT.

Both EFT and hypnosis are enhanced by utilizing language patterns, how you store and access memories, and your particular learning style, all which fall under the umbrella of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP.

The founders of NLP studied how Milton Erickson, a brilliant hypnotist, utilized language to create change. We are learning more every day about how our mind works and how we can change it.

The biggest shift is that science now acknowledges that the brain does change as we learn new things.
