Minding Your Magnificence!
Minding Your Magnificence…
That phrase is from A Course in Miracles, where one finds the refreshing idea that you are not your body at all, but a spiritual being.
If you feel fat, you may be the most spiritual person in the world, but your practical side just shouts, “Great, just give me a pill, a weight loss program, a camp, a new brain, something, anything. Make the fat go away.”
NOW One of the maxims in hypnosis and dare I say life is that what you focus on increases.
It is amazing that many of you rarely yell at your pets, but think nothing of silently cursing yourself for the expanse below your chest.
You may be an expert at calling yourself an idiot over and over. Whooaa. If you are so hard on yourself, you may just get more pain and suffering. There has got to be a better way!
What if you took a different tact and began noticing with equal drama, the things you do right?

Everywhere you look …Eat this. Don’t eat that. Take this vitamin. No, that one! You really should move more. No end to the health and beauty mandates.
Oh, and sometimes in the din RELAXATION is mentioned..
Yeah. I know you are busy. During the busiest time in my life, when the decision about what to do first was so overwhelming I felt my brain might just jump out of my head, I would do hypnosis for twenty-minutes . Then I would just get up and go. No deciding necessary.
The relaxation from hypnosis is a positive addiction. The first hypnosis I ever recorded is “Love the Skin Your In.” It has tremendous heart and passion and everyone I have given it to thanks me. I will say that again, if you want to get in shape, lose weight, wear a little black dress, or run around the house naked, it is all infinitely easier to accomplish when you proceed from a place of LOVE rather than LOATHING.

The Alchemy of Change
When she came in for her first appointment, she said she wanted to wear a bra from Victoria’s Secret. This morning she emailed and said it was hanging in her bedroom. She bought it. It fits. And now she wants the constant reminder, ” I am now a woman who can buy and wear a bra from Victoria’s Secret”.
Sometimes, the goal is to walk in the heat of the summer without chafing your legs. After my first pregnancy, my goal was to walk up the steps without my legs touching my belly.
Maybe you want to feel at ease in group of people or during intimacy. Maybe you want to stop being afraid of what is next. Whatever it is you want to feel differently about: you also most certainly want it to happen instantly. And yet, our most delicious victories come with a little more effort.
I have noticed there is an alchemy to changing your mind. I am more relaxed about the how, and the more at ease I am, the better practitioner I become. The first step to changing your mind is for you to be honest about how you want to feel differently.
The second step is to neutralize the negative emotions. This second step can take a month, a few minutes, or a few years. It is the most important step and it is actually a series of steps. It is like playing a game.
You progress and then something else comes up and you get past the something else, until you get closer to the red bra, or whatever it is you seek.
What is missing for so many of us, is the acknowledgment that we are emotional beings. We love logic and the “just do it” mentality. We beat ourselves up for procrastinating, not being all we can be, and so on and so on. Relying on logic without acknowledging and clearing our emotions keeps us stuck.
We carry around emotional patterns and keep acting the same screen play until we change our emotional being.
Trying to change without clearing emotions is like planting lettuce seeds over grass. It is like trying to grow blueberries in the wrong kind of soil. It is like trying to make good pesto from bitter- old basil. It is like driving without enough air in your tires.
Once you get the soil right. Once you are open to letting go of old emotional patterns, your experience changes.
Your mind takes a positive affirmation because it can.
The blueberries are sweeter and more prolific. Picking lettuce is easy; you can enjoy the best pesto, and your car rolls efficiently.

Does Positive Changes Work for Weight Loss?
Someone called me yesterday and asked the question, “Does Positive Changes work?”
Positive Changes is a Hypnosis Center in Bellevue,Washington specializing in weight loss.
While I am an expert on using hypnosis for weight loss, I cannot say if Positive Changes would be right for a stranger who calls me on the phone.
It is like asking me to pick out your pink lipstick…umm
Compared to the many things that hypnosis and EFT are fabulously helpful with, eating issues are the most complex.
To permanently change your relationship with food, and your body, you need to resolve the root issues.
When I work with a client I always begin each session with where they are, allowing the session to magically unfold so we get quick, lasting results.
Each of us is unique.
I encourage you to make sure that your sessions are individually based, and not from a script.
Feeling comfortable with your hypnotist is also very important.
